Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a blue warning for strong winds at 0600 hours on Monday (28 October), due to the potential impact of typhoon no. 21 Connie. Orange alert for heavy fog is ongoing in several parts of northern China on Monday (28 October). Following are the latest updates:

• The center of typhoon Trami, was located in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam at 0500 hours on Monday (28 October). It is expected that Trami will move less along the central coast and offshore of Vietnam. Thus Typhoon Trami is not likely to hit China as of Monday (28 October).
• However affected by the cold air and the weakened tropical depression Trami, from 0800 hours on Monday (28 October) to 0800 hours on Tuesday (29 October), there will be 6-7 strong winds and 8-9 gusts in the northern and central-western waters of the South China Sea, the Qiongzhou Strait, the coastal areas of Guangdong, the coastal areas of Guangxi, and the coastal areas of Hainan Island. On Monday (28 October), Anping County in Hengshui City, Hebei Province issued a heavy fog orange warning signal at 0832 hours, with heavy fog with visibility below 200 meters.
• Hefei in Anhui Province also issued an orange fog warning for Monday (28 October), with visibility less than 200 meters in Gaoliu, Nangang, Sanshigang, and other streets (or towns) and some sections of the ring highway in Hefei, and fewer than 50 meters in some places.
• Typhoon Connie, the typhoon number 21, has been upgraded from a tropical storm to a severe tropical storm this morning. At 0500 hours on Monday (28 October), its center was located on the northwest Pacific Ocean about 1,180 kilometers southeast of Hualien City, Taiwan Province, at 16.8 degrees north latitude and 130.0 degrees east longitude.
• The maximum wind force near the center was level 10 (25 meters per second), the lowest central pressure was 985 hPa, and the radius of the level 7 wind circle was 330-450 kilometers. It is expected that Connie will move northwestward at a speed of 10-15 kilometers per hour, and its intensity will gradually increase, according to the Chinese Meteorological Administration, as of Monday (28 October).
• As per the Chinese Meteorological Administration on Monday (28 October) strongest level may reach the level of a strong typhoon or a super typhoon (48-55 meters per second, level 15-16), and gradually approach the eastern sea of ​​Taiwan Island.
