The Office of National Water Resources (ONWR) has issued a warning of high tides from Wednesday (23 July) to Monday (28 July) between 2000 and 2300 hours, which could result in water levels exceeding critical thresholds.
• At Phra Chulachomklao Fort and surrounding areas, water levels are expected to rise to two meters above mean sea level, approximately 0.30 meters above critical levels.
• The combination of high tides, heavy rainfall from the southwest monsoon, and rising river levels may cause overflows in low-lying areas along the Chao Phraya River, Tha Chin River, and Mae Klong River, particularly in areas without permanent flood barriers.
• Provinces at risk include Samut Prakan, Bangkok, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, and Samut Songkhram.
• ONWR has advised relevant agencies to monitor the situation, check and reinforce flood barriers, prepare equipment for emergency response, and adjust water management plans in reservoirs and dams to mitigate potential impacts.
