According to reports, on Wednesday (04 February), a large quantity of cooking oil was spilled on the Pramukh Swami Overbridge in Surat, creating slippery conditions that resulted in several vehicles losing control. Minor injuries were reported among commuters.
The incident prompted immediate action from the Surat Fire Brigade, which cleared the oil using water jets and dust or chemical agents. Traffic flow was restored only after the road was fully cleaned. Police are investigating the source of the spillage and potential liability for negligence.
