As per reports, the US National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple Flood Watches and Flash Flood Warnings across portions of Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Illinois due to slow-moving weather systems producing repeated rounds of heavy rainfall.

• A Flood Watch remains in effect across Middle Tennessee as of Friday (10 July), including Davidson, Rutherford, Williamson, Sumner, Dickson, Cheatham, Robertson, Montgomery, Houston, Humphreys, Stewart, Hickman, Lewis, Perry, Wayne, Lawrence, Giles, Marshall, Maury, Cannon, DeKalb, White, Warren, Van Buren, Coffee, Bedford, Lincoln, Moore, Franklin, Grundy, Fentress, Pickett, Overton, Jackson, Clay, Macon, Smith, Wilson, Trousdale, Putnam, and surrounding counties, through Sunday (12 July) afternoon.
• However, several areas have also been upgraded to Flash Flood Warnings due to ongoing heavy rainfall and training thunderstorms capable of resulting in rapid flooding.
• In western Kentucky, the NWS Paducah has issued a Flood Watch as of Friday (10 July) through late Saturday (11 July) night, with localized rainfall accumulations forecast to exceed five inches (12.7 centimetres) in some locations.
• Additionally, a separate Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday morning for portions of southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois, including the St. Louis metropolitan area, where saturated ground from recent rainfall is expected to increase the risk of rapid runoff and life-threatening flash flooding as of Friday (10 July).
• NWS has advised residents and travellers to monitor official weather updates, remain alert for rapidly changing conditions, and avoid flooded roads and low-lying areas while the alerts remain in effect.
