As per reports, as of Thursday (15 May), Nucor Corporation, one of North America’s largest steel manufacturers, temporarily halted production across multiple U.S. facilities due to a cybersecurity breach that compromised core operational technology systems. The breach was formally disclosed through a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Form 8-K filing.
The incident prompted a precautionary shutdown of production lines as part of the containment strategy. Federal agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have been notified.
