As per reports, the US Food and Drug Administration issued a safety advisory on Monday (09 March) regarding the recall of oysters and Manila clams potentially contaminated with norovirus. The recalled shellfish were harvested between Thursday (13 February) and Monday (03 March). The products were harvested by the Lummi Indian Business Council and Drayton Harbor Oyster Company.
The recalled oysters and clams were distributed from Washington State to restaurants and retailers across multiple states. Affected distribution locations include Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, New York, Oregon, and Washington. Authorities advised restaurants and food retailers not to serve or sell the recalled products and to dispose of them immediately. Consumers are advised not to consume the affected shellfish.
