As per reports, a wall collapsed due to a soil cave-in at a construction site in the Jasalpur village of Kadi town, in the Mehsana District of Gujarat on Saturday (12 October) evening. The incident led to the death of nine labourers working on-site. An operation was carried out by the fire brigade, police teams and other personnel on site for over two hours to retrieve the bodies.
Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister (CM) acknowledged the incident and announced a monetary compensation to the kin of the workers.
