As per reports, a Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet experienced an in flight emergency and crashed near Karabonde in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State on Saturday (06 December).

• Residents reported that the incident occurred at approximately 1610 hours local time (1510 hours UTC), with the aircraft descending into an unpopulated area close to the town.
• According to an official statement issued by the Nigerian Air Force, the emergency occurred during a post inspection functional check flight at Nigerian Air Force Base Kainji. Shortly after take off, the jet developed a critical fault, prompting the pilots to act immediately.
