As per reports, Niger has suspended the issuance of visa to US citizens indefinitely and barred US national from entering Niger, effective from Thursday (01 January 2026).

The move is a retaliatory diplomatic measure following a US proclamation of countries subject to full or partial visa US entry visa restrictions. Niger is among the countries facing full restrictions on the entry of its nationals into the United States.
