The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) has forecast heatwave conditions across central Vietnam on Friday (29 May).

• Areas from Quang Tri to Da Nang City and the eastern parts of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak are expected to record maximum temperatures between 35 and 36 degrees Celsius, exceeding 36 degrees Celsius in some areas. The lowest relative humidity is expected to range between 55 and 60 percent, with the hot period forecast from 1100 hours (local time) to 1700 hours (local time).
• From Saturday (30 May), the widespread heatwave is expected to end across areas from Quang Tri to Da Nang City and the eastern parts of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak.
• The disaster risk level has been assessed at Level 1.
