As per reports, trade unions, labour centres and public- and private-sector federations have announced a nationwide rally at CHANTH Square in Thessaloniki, Greece, at 1730 hours local time (1430 hours UTC) on 05 September.
• Reports indicate that the mobilisation is scheduled to coincide with the opening day of the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition and Congress Centre.
• Workers from the construction, food and beverage, tourism, catering, pharmaceutical, textile, education and public sectors are expected to participate. Organisations representing pensioners, self-employed workers, farmers, students, women and persons with disabilities have also called for participation.
• Pensioners are scheduled to assemble at the pedestrian section of Agia Sofia Square, Thessaloniki, Greece, at 1800 hours local time (1500 hours UTC), followed by a march. Farmers may travel to Thessaloniki with tractors and agricultural machinery, while participating organisations are arranging buses from multiple regions, including Western Macedonia.
