As per reports, a municipal holiday has been declared in Pehuajó, Buenos Aires Province, on Friday (03 July) to mark the 143rd anniversary of the city’s founding.
• The holiday applies to municipal public sector employees and educational institutions, resulting in the suspension of classes and public administration activities within the municipality.
• Municipal authorities have scheduled a full-day programme of anniversary celebrations centred around Dardo Rocha Square, with official events beginning at 1000 hours local time (1300 hours UTC).
• The celebrations are also expected to coincide with public viewing of the Argentina vs. Cape Verde FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match, with a giant screen to be installed at the venue.
• Planned activities include an official opening ceremony, a community barbecue organised by six local sports and social clubs, cultural workshops, an awards ceremony for the ‘Manuelita, ¿Dónde Estás?’ competition organised in collaboration with the Walsh-Facio Foundation and the Rafael Hernández Regional Museum, an artisans and entrepreneurs’ fair, and live music and dance performances by local artists throughout the day.
