As per reports, multiple demonstrations are scheduled to take place across Central Jakarta on Friday (10 April), with activities expected from morning until noon. According to local police authorities, three separate demonstrations will be held at different strategic locations in the city, which may affect normal activity levels.
To manage the situation, authorities have deployed 453 joint police personnel across the affected areas. Traffic management measures will be implemented on a situational basis, depending on crowd size and on-ground conditions. The details are as follows:
• The first demonstration has commenced at 0900 hours (local time) in front of the BRI Bank Head Office on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, by the Indonesian Law Students Union.
• The second demonstration is set to take place at 1300 hours (local time) in the Horse Statue area and along Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan in Gambir. This action will be led by the Indonesian Islamic Brotherhood Forum (FUII) along with several other groups.
• At the same time, a third demonstration is expected to occur in front of the DPR/MPR Building in Senayan, organized by the Indonesian Youth Initiative Movement.
• Authorities have advised the public to avoid demonstration sites and use alternative routes to reduce congestion. Suggested alternative routes include diversions from Jalan Jenderal Sudirman via Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, and Jalan HR Rasuna Said.
• For those traveling near the Horse Statue and Medan Merdeka areas, alternate routes via Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Jalan Gunung Sahari, and Jalan Gajah Mada are advised. Motorists traveling between south and north Jakarta are advised to avoid the Thamrin–Medan Merdeka corridor and instead use Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Jalan Cikini Raya, and Jalan Salemba.
• In the Senayan area near the DPR/MPR Building, drivers from western areas are advised to divert via Slipi, Jalan Palmerah Utara, and Jalan Tentara Pelajar. Those traveling from southern Jakarta toward the city center are advised to use Jalan Pangeran Antasari, Jalan Wijaya, Jalan Panglima Polim, and connecting roads such as Jalan KH Mas Mansyur or Jalan Cideng.
