MTR announces early train operations on Sunday (07 December) ahead of Hong Kong Legislative Council elections

According to reports, the MTR Corporation (MTRC) has announced that train services across its network will begin operating earlier on Sunday (07 December) to facilitate public transportation during the upcoming Legislative Council elections. The decision was made in alignment with the government’s election arrangements and in support of encouraging public participation in the electoral process.

• The MTR will operate its first trains earlier than the usual start time of approximately 0600 hours (local time), with exact revised hours pending further announcement.
• Election reminders have been displayed at entry and exit gates, advertising light boxes, and internal staff platforms.
• Additional assistance measures include a HKD 20,000 subsidy per district centre for elderly and disabled voters, and a free election-themed concert on the eve of polling day.
