As per reports, Mount Ibu on Halmahera Island in North Maluku erupted at approximately 0924 hours (local time) on Tuesday (19 May), sending a volcanic ash column up to 800 metres above the summit and drifting toward the northwest.
• The eruption lasted approximately four minutes and one second and was recorded with a maximum seismic amplitude of 28 millimetres.
• Indonesia’s Geological Agency has maintained the volcano at Alert Level II (Waspada) and prohibited residents, visitors, and tourists from conducting activities within a two-kilometre radius of the active crater, with the exclusion zone extended to 3.5 kilometres in the northern sector.
