As per reports, a magnitude 4.0 earthquake occurred in the Caribbean Sea, approximately 16 km north of Güiria, Sucre state, Venezuela, on Sunday (02 August) at 1438 hours (local time).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 44 km and was classified as a moderate seismic event. Weak shaking was estimated near the epicentre, while very weak shaking was reported in nearby areas of Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago.
