As per reports, mobile phone sellers staged protests by forming a human chain at Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar at 0900 hours on Sunday (30 November), demanding reform of the National Equipment Identity Register (NEIR), abolition of the monopolistic syndicate system, and creation of opportunities for open import of mobile phones.
