As per reports, markets in parts of Mira Bhayandar have shut on Thursday (03 July) amid a strike by traders of the Marwari community, to protest the assault of a shopkeeper, allegedly by cadres of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The strike will be in effect till 1700 hours.
Traders have also commenced a protest rally to the Office of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mira Road East, to submit a memorandum of demands, including security for shopkeepers. Traders have also gathered at Aai Mata Bhawan in Mira Road East for a sit-in demonstration.
