As per reports, Russia’s Rospotrebnadzor has confirmed a localized measles outbreak in Nevsky District of St Petersburg, with five pupils diagnosed on Wednesday (30 September).
• Reportedly, an epidemiological investigation has been launched, contact tracing is underway, and medical observation has been established for identified contacts at patients’ homes.
• Vaccination against measles has been organized for contacts and susceptible individuals, with authorities emphasizing that the outbreak is part of a broader resurgence of measles in Russia linked to gaps in immunization coverage and imported cases.
