As per reports, the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced a measles cluster on Tuesday (22 April) in Taipei and Taichung city. This is the fourth measles cluster case to be announced this year.
• The infected individual from Taipei had travelled to Vietnam and developed a fever and runny nose after returning back to the country.
• One of the infected individuals had travelled to Taichung city and following that, the Taichung City Government has stated that 35 citizens may have had contact with the case, and all of them are currently asymptomatic.
• A total of 235 people have been identified in this measles cluster and will be monitored until 11 May.
• As per the CDC, the total number of confirmed cases in the country this year is 28, including 11 domestic cases and 17 imported cases.
