Magnitude 4.9 earthquake recorded near Vina del Mar in Chile on Wednesday (29 July)

As per reports, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake was recorded approximately 56 kilometres southwest of Viña del Mar in the Valparaíso Region, and 130 kilometres west of Santiago in Chile, on Wednesday (29 July).

The earthquake was recorded at 1036 hours local time (1436 hours UTC) at a depth of 17 kilometres, classifying it as a shallow-focus event, and the epicentre was located at 33.319 degrees South, 72.039 degrees West.
