Magnitude 4.3 earthquake reported near Tainan City on Monday (16 March)

As per reports, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck near Tainan City at approximately 0719 hours (local time) on Monday (16 March). The tremor occurred at a depth of around 7.5 kilometres, with the epicentre located about 40.1 kilometres northeast of Tainan City Hall.

• Shaking of maximum intensity level 4 was recorded across parts of Tainan City, including Tsengwen, Nanxi, Baihe, Shanhua, Xinhua, Jiali and Yongkang districts.
• There were no immediate reports of significant damage or casualties at the time of reporting, while local monitoring agencies continued to assess the situation.
