As per reports, an earthquake measuring magnitude 4.0 (mb) occurred 56 km southwest of Cañete, near Contulmo in the Biobío Region, Chile, on Thursday (12 March) at 1741 hours UTC. The earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 26.0 km.
No immediate reports of damage, injuries, or infrastructure disruption were reported following the event. Authorities also confirmed that no tsunami warning or advisory was issued.
