Maersk suspends passage through Red Sea for 48 hours on Sunday (31 December)

As per reports, shipping company Maersk has suspended passage through the Red Sea strait for 48 hours on Sunday (31 December). The decision has been taken after Yemeni rebels attacked the Maersk Hangzhou container vessel in the southern Red Sea.

Hence, in order to conduct an investigation into the incident and further evaluate the security situation, a decision has been made to postpone all transits through the affected area for the next 48 hours.
