As per reports, local communities and their representative groups have threatened a blockade of the Atal Setu (Mumbai-Navi Mumbai Trans-harbour link) to demand that the Navi Mumbai International Airport be renamed as “DB Patil International Airport.” As of Thursday (26 February), further details regarding the blockade are awaited.

Protesting groups, under the banner of the “DB Patil Naming Committee” had held a one-day ‘dharna’ (sit-in protest) at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan on Monday (23 February) to press for their demand. During this protest, they threatened an escalated and indefinite strike if their demand is not met.
