As per reports, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has announced the deployment of 500 additional officers across major roads and critical corridors in Lagos, including Ojota, Opebi, Alausa, Ajegunle, and the Lekki-Epe corridor, ahead of the official visit of the President of Nigeria, scheduled from Wednesday (08 April) to Thursday (09 April).
• The initiative reportedly forms part of a coordinated inter-agency effort led by the state government to ensure smooth traffic flow, enhanced security, and minimal disruption during the high-profile visit.
• As per the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, comprehensive arrangements covering logistics, traffic control, and security have been put in place to support the President’s movements and public engagements.
• The visit is expected to include the commissioning of several major infrastructure projects, prompting increased activity along key routes such as Ojota, Opebi, Alausa, Ajegunle, and the Lekki-Epe corridor.
• The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed that officers are likely to be strategically stationed to manage vehicular movement, enforce traffic regulations, and implement temporary diversions where necessary.
• The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has indicated that traffic advisories and alternative route arrangements are likely to be communicated to the public ahead of the visit scheduled from Wednesday (08 April) to Thursday (09 April).
