As per reports, the Metropolitan Public Company of Mobility and Public Works (EPMMOP) is expected to conduct road resurfacing works along Panamericana Norte in Quito from Friday (24 July) to 25 August, resulting in phased lane closures, temporary traffic restrictions and modified traffic flow.
• During the first phase from Friday (24 July) to 09 August, three southbound-to-northbound lanes will be closed between Calle de los Hierros and Avenida Galo Plaza Lasso. Public transport passengers are expected not to be permitted to board or alight within the affected section while works are underway.
• During the second phase 10 August to 25 August, three lanes are expected to be closed between the Carapungo Interchange and Calle de los Hierros, with similar restrictions on public transport boarding and alighting in the work zone.
• The Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) is expected to be implement temporary contraflow (counterflow) systems during both phases to maintain traffic circulation, while Civil Traffic Agents will be deployed to manage vehicle movement and reduce congestion.
