As per reports, on Monday (01 July) and Tuesday (02 July), employees from Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, and UniCredit in Hamburg will strike to increase pressure on employers before the third round of wage negotiations. The union demands a 12.5 per cent wage increase or a minimum of 500 EUR per month, while employers have offered an 8.5 per cent increase over 36 months for private banks and 9.5 per cent over 43 months for public banks. A demonstration is planned for Monday (01 July) starting at 0900 hours local time.
On Monday (01 July) workers at Hochtief will strike in Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Berlin for the entire day, and from 1100 hours local time to 1400 hours local time in Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, and Essen. The strike is due to dissatisfaction with current wage increase offers after two profitable years. The next negotiation is scheduled for Monday (08 July).
