As per reports, workers at the Isap/Flo Group will initiate a one-hour strike on Monday (27 April), at the company’s facility in Catania, reflecting ongoing labour tensions linked to the planned closure of the site.

• The industrial action is reportedly organized by trade unions including Filctem CGIL (Federazione Italiana Lavoratori Chimica Tessile Energia Manifatture), Femca CISL (Federazione Energia Moda Chimica e Affini), and Uiltec UIL (Unione Italiana Lavoratori Tessile Energia Chimica).
• Union representatives have expressed concern following a meeting held on 08 April at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, during which the company declined proposals aimed at managing the transition in a socially sustainable manner.
• These proposals included the use of a special redundancy fund, efforts to identify potential buyers for site redevelopment, and the provision of structured and dignified exit incentives for affected workers.
• In addition to the immediate situation in Catania, unions have indicated that the company may proceed with broader restructuring measures, potentially affecting facilities in Parma and Verona.
• The company also operates a facility in Fontanellato, which may be indirectly affected by strategic decisions regarding production and workforce allocation.
