As per reports, the Koto Panjang Hydroelectric Power Plant management has announced a planned opening of the reservoir spillway gates on Tuesday (30 December), starting at 1000 hours (local time).

• Two spillway gates are scheduled to be opened, each to a height of 50 centimetres, as part of an early release operation.
• The Kampar River water level is expected to rise by approximately 20 to 30 centimetres from current conditions following the release.
• The decision follows high rainfall in upstream catchment areas, increased inflow to the reservoir, and a technical disruption affecting one generating unit.
