Kolkata Traffic Police issues notification in view of President’s visit on 30-31 July

The Kolkata Traffic Police has issued a notification in view of the visit of the President of India to the city on Wednesday-Thursday (30-31 July).

Movements of all types of Goods Vehicles shall be restricted within the city of Kolkata on Wednesday-Thursday (30-31 July) along the following roads as per the timings mentioned here or till the journey of the VVIP is over, in addition to the normal restrictions on those days.

• On Wednesday (30 July) from 1630 hours to 2100 hours: Tala Bridge – Bidhan Sarani – Sinthi crossing – BT Road Shyambazar 5-point crossing – Bhupen Bose Avenue – J M Avenue – CR Avenue – B B Ganguly Street – Lalbazar Street – BBD Bag (East) – Old Court House Street – Govt. Place (East) – R R Avenue.
• On Thursday (31 July) from 0830 hours to 1300 hours: RR Avenue – Red Road – J & N Island – Khidderpore Road – Casurina Avenue – Hospital Road – Hospital Road East – AJC Bose Flyover – Maa Flyover – EM Bypass – HUDCO Crossing – Durgapur Bridge.
• Movement of Vehicles of all descriptions and Carts of all descriptions including Tram Cars are likely to be temporarily suspended or diverted and not allowed to be parked on the above mentioned roads and approaches during the above mentioned times and dates, according to the programme of the VVIP or as and when considered necessary.
• All Kinds of Heavy Goods Vehicles shall be restricted to ply in and around Raj Bhawan, Kolkata from 0600 hours on Wednesday (30 July) up to 2200 hours on Thursday (31 July).
• Vehicular traffic may also be diverted from any of the arterial roads and feeder roads by the Traffic Police on duty as and when considered necessary, according to the programme of the VVIP.
