As per reports, New York City is scheduled to host a ticker tape parade for the New York Knicks on Thursday (18 June), following the team’s first National Basketball Association championship since 1973.
• The parade is scheduled to begin near Battery Park in Lower Manhattan at 1000 hours local time (1400 hours UTC), move approximately one mile north along Broadway through the Canyon of Heroes, and conclude at City Hall.
• A City Hall Plaza ceremony is scheduled after the parade, where Mayor Zohran Mamdani is expected to present Keys to the City to the team, including Finals Most Valuable Player Jalen Brunson.
• Millions of fans are expected, and city officials have indicated that the event may be among the largest parades in New York City history.
• Municipal buildings, including the David N. Dinkins Manhattan Municipal Building and Brooklyn Borough Hall, are scheduled to be illuminated in blue and orange.
