The Korea Meteorological Administration has issued a Cold Wave Advisory for parts of South Korea on Friday (09 January), as very low morning temperatures are forecast to persist across inland and mountainous regions
• Cold wave conditions are expected to affect Taebaek, flatland areas of Pyeongchang, Hongcheon, Yanggu, and Yeongyang, Hoengseong, Chuncheon, as well as mountainous areas of central and southern Gangwon Province. Additional advisory areas include Goesan, Yeongdong, Chungju, Jecheon, Eumseong, Danyang, and parts of Gyeongsangbuk-do, including Gunwi, Andong, Yeongju, Uiseong, Cheongsong, Bonghwa, and mountainous areas of northeast Gyeongbuk
• The advisory has been issued due to persistently low minimum temperatures, with colder conditions expected to be more pronounced in elevated and inland locations.
