Kazhydromet has forecast widespread adverse weather conditions across several regions of Kazakhstan on Thursday (30 October). Conditions include strong winds, fog, heavy rainfall, and sustained high to extreme fire danger levels across multiple western, southern, and central provinces. The following are the additional details:
• Extreme fire danger persists in the south of Ulytau, as well as in the north, south, and east of Atyrau, the west, northeast, and centre of Aktobe, the south of Kyzylorda, the north, south, and desert areas of Turkestan, and the west and north of Zhambyl, as well as parts of the Kostanay and Mangystau regions.
• High fire danger continues in the east and centre of Ulytau, southwest of Akmola, southern Zhetisu, south and east of Aktobe, southern Abai, western Karaganda, central and eastern Zhambyl, and northeast and southeast Atyrau, where dry and windy conditions are likely to sustain a heightened wildfire risk.
• Fog is expected overnight and in the morning across multiple regions, including the north and east of Karaganda, west and north of Atyrau, north and east of Kostanay, north, east, and south of East Kazakhstan, northern, eastern, and central Abai, and the mountainous zones of Zhambyl, Zhetisu, and Turkestan. Reduced visibility may affect early-morning mobility and air operations.
• Heavy rainfall is forecast overnight in the northern Atyrau and northern and eastern parts of West Kazakhstan, including Uralsk, which may lead to short-term water accumulation on local roads.
• Strong gusty winds reaching 15–20 m/s are anticipated across several areas, including the west, south, and centre of Mangystau, north and west of Atyrau, mountainous Zhambyl and Zhetisu, south of Kostanay, and north and east of Aktobe, as well as the east and south of East Kazakhstan. Localised dust and windborne debris may temporarily disrupt vehicular and flight operations.
• Adverse meteorological condition (AMC) warnings of the second degree remain in effect for Semey, Ridder, and Ust-Kamenogorsk due to fog, low visibility, and unstable atmospheric conditions.
• Fog is also expected in parts of Atyrau, North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and Akmola regions, with extreme fire danger continuing in areas of Atyrau, Kostanay, and Kyzylorda.
