Karnataka government to hold large state convention in Tumakuru on 20 May

As per reports, the Karnataka government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to complete three years in office on Wednesday (20 May), and a large state-level convention has been planned in Tumakuru to mark the occasion.

• The event has been tentatively planned at the Government Junior College grounds in Tumakuru, subject to final operational confirmation. Authorities have indicated that the event is expected to be organised on a major scale, with more than two lakh beneficiaries anticipated to attend from across the state.
• Officials stated that approximately 4,000 buses may be arranged to transport attendees from various districts to the venue and return them after the programme. Authorities are also planning seating, food distribution, transport management, and crowd handling measures. District administration sub-committees are expected to be formed for operational responsibilities.
• The programme is also expected to include an exhibition highlighting government schemes and departmental progress, along with distribution of benefits to beneficiaries. Senior political leaders, ministers, MLAs, MPs, and state officials are expected to attend. Preparations for a ceremonial stage, helipad arrangements, and inauguration or foundation stone-related events have also been discussed.
