As per reports, the Karnataka Congress party workers staged a protest in front of the BJP headquarters in Bengaluru on Thursday (26 June), condemning a social media post by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that reportedly compared former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to Hitler in the context of the 50th anniversary of Emergency.

• Following a complaint from the General Secretary of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), the High Grounds police in Bengaluru have registered an FIR against the BJP IT cell for the incident.
• Meanwhile, the police reportedly took the protestors into preventive custody before releasing them after taking down the complaint. In addition, demands for the immediate removal of the offensive content and the arrest of those responsible were also made.
