As per reports, Italian authorities have dismantled a large-scale digital piracy network centered around the CINEMAGOAL application, which allegedly provided unauthorized access to multiple streaming services, including Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, Sky, and DAZN.
The operation, named “Tutto Chiaro” (All Clear), involved coordinated enforcement measures across Italy and was carried out by the Guardia di Finanza, the Italian law enforcement agency operating under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
• According to investigators, the CINEMAGOAL application differed from conventional IPTV piracy services because users installed a dedicated application on their devices rather than accessing openly advertised streaming portals.
• Officials noted that the system was capable of bypassing platform security mechanisms while also providing high-quality streaming directly from legitimate services. Authorities further indicated that the application concealed users’ IP addresses, making identification of end users more difficult.
• Authorities estimate that the operation caused approximately 300 euro million in unpaid subscription revenue losses during its operational period. Officials confirmed that investigators are currently examining seized materials to identify all individuals connected to the operation, including end users and financial intermediaries.
• Officials also confirmed that another IPTV-related piracy service known as “pezzotto” was dismantled during the same enforcement action. The investigation remains ongoing and is currently in a preliminary phase.
