As per reports, intelligence agencies have issued a high alert across Jammu and Kashmir after receiving specific inputs indicating that terrorist groups are planning to target security forces using improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
• The alert was issued on Thursday (26 March) and has been circulated among all security agencies operating in the Union Territory, warning of the possibility of major attacks following patterns seen in previous incidents.
• According to the advisory, security forces have been directed to minimise movement, avoid travel in non‑bulletproof vehicles, and strictly adhere to standard operating procedures, particularly during patrols, convoys, and road‑opening operations.
• Intelligence inputs also suggest that militants may attempt a combination of IED blasts followed by indiscriminate firing to inflict maximum casualties, prompting enhanced vigilance across highways, sensitive locations, and operational zones.
