According to reports, the Joint Forum of Unions & Associations of Officers & Employees in Public Sector General Insurance Companies (JFTU at PSGICs) has issued a strike notice for Friday (09 January), primarily over delays in wage revision notifications and unresolved commitments from management.

• The Chief Labour Commissioner summoned managing directors for conciliation talks on Thursday (08 January), as a final attempt to resolve the dispute under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947.
• Failure to honour prior commitments, including wage revisions pending since letters dated 19 March 2025 and 29 December 2025, will lead to the one-day nationwide strike proceeding without deferral.
