Indian Medical Association declares 24-hour nationwide withdrawal of service by doctors starting Saturday (17 August)

As per reports, the Indian Medical Association has declared a nationwide withdrawal of services by doctors of ‘modern medicine’ from 0600 hours local time on Saturday (17 August) until 0600 hours local time on Sunday (18 August). All essential services will be maintained and casualties will be manned. However, routine outpatient departments (OPDs) and elective surgeries will be suspended.

The withdrawal will affect all sectors where ‘modern medicine’ doctors are providing service.
