The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the indicated weather alerts in the following metro cities, as of Wednesday (01 July).
• Mumbai and Pune – For Mumbai, an orange alert for heavy rainfall has been issued in the forecast, and a yellow alert for moderate rainfall has been issued in the nowcast, valid until 0700 hours (local time). For Pune, a yellow alert for moderate rainfall has been issued in both the forecast and the nowcast.
• Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram – A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squalls has been issued in both the forecast and the nowcast for Delhi. For Noida, a yellow alert for thunderstorms and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast, while an orange alert for thunderstorms and moderate rainfall has been issued in the nowcast. For Gurugram, a yellow alert for thunderstorms has been issued in the forecast, while no warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Bengaluru – No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
• Hyderabad – A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds has been in the forecast, while no warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Chennai – A yellow alert for thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and squalls, has been issued in the forecast, while no warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Kolkata – A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, squalls, and strong surface winds has been in the forecast, while no warning has been issued in the nowcast.
• Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar – No warning has been issued in the forecast or nowcast.
