The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts in the following metro cities, as of Tuesday (07 October);
• Mumbai and Pune – No warning has been issued in the forecast and nowcast.
• Delhi –  No warning has been issued in the forecast, while nowcast updates are awaited.
• Bengaluru – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. No IMD nowcast warning has been issued.
• Hyderabad – A yellow alert for thunderstorms has been issued for today. IMD’s nowcast has issued a yellow alert for light rainfall with thunderstorms valid up to 0700 hours.
• Chennai – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. No IMD nowcast warning has been issued.
• Kolkata – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. No IMD nowcast warning has been issued in the city.
• Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar – No warning has been issued in the forecast and nowcast.
• Noida:  No warning has been issued in the forecast. However, an orange alert for moderate rainfall with light thunderstorms and lightning has been issued in the IMD nowcast (valid till 0600 hours).
• Gurugram: A yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorm, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. IMD’s nowcast has issued a yellow alert for light rainfall with thunderstorms valid up to 0530 hours.
