The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts in the following metro cities, as of Thursday (09 October);
• Mumbai and Pune – No warning has been issued in the forecast. IMD’s nowcast has issued a yellow alert for moderate to light rainfall valid up to 0700 hours for Mumbai.
• Delhi, Noida, Gurugram – No warning has been issued in the forecast and nowcast.
• Bengaluru – A yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorm, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. IMD’s nowcast has issued a yellow alert for moderate to light rainfall, valid up to 0700 hours (local time)
• Hyderabad – A yellow alert for thunderstorms, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. N IMD’s nowcast has issued a yellow alert for moderate to light rainfall, valid up to 0700 hours (local time)
• Chennai – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. No IMD nowcast warning has been issued.
• Kolkata – A yellow alert for thunderstorm, lightning, squall, and strong surface winds has been issued in the forecast. No IMD nowcast warning has been issued in the city.
• Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar – No warning has been issued in the forecast and nowcast.
