According to reports, the National Police initiated a security operation for the Caacupé 2025 pilgrimage, a major Marian festival expected to attract thousands of faithful to the spiritual capital of the country, Caacupé. The initial deployment of personnel will start on Friday (28 November).
Police presence will be significantly intensified from Friday (05 December) with the deployment of 2,000 uniformed agents. Controls will be concentrated along the main pilgrimage route from Ypacaraí to the Basilica of the Virgin in Caacupé to ensure public safety and manage the large crowd flow.
