The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast cool to cold morning conditions, fog, and localized rainfall activity across Thailand on Thursday (01 January).
• Cool to cold morning conditions with light fog and isolated dense fog are expected across Northern, Northeastern, Central, Eastern Thailand, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. Minimum temperatures are forecast to range between 14 and 24 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures are expected between 29 and 34 degrees Celsius. In mountainous areas of the North and Northeast, cold to very cold conditions are anticipated, with minimum temperatures ranging between 5 and 15 degrees Celsius, and isolated frost possible on mountain tops.
• Northeasterly winds are forecast across most regions, generally ranging between 10 and 20 kilometers per hour, increasing to 15 to 30 kilometers per hour in eastern and southern coastal areas. Parts of the southern East Coast may experience stronger winds of up to 35 kilometers per hour.
• Isolated thundershowers are forecast across parts of Southern Thailand, particularly along the East Coast, mainly affecting Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, and Narathiwat, and along the West Coast, affecting Krabi, Trang, and Satun.
