Inclement weather forecast across Thailand on Saturday (28 February)

The Thai Meteorological Department has forecast unsettled weather conditions across multiple regions of Thailand on Saturday (28 February), with thunderstorms, gusty winds, and isolated hail in several lower central regions, including Bangkok, the East and the Northeast.

• In Northern Thailand, isolated thundershowers are forecast in Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok and Phetchabun, with minimum temperatures between 17 and 24 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius, under southwesterly winds of 10 to 15 kilometres per hour.
• In Northeastern Thailand, scattered thundershowers with gusty winds are expected in Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Amnat Charoen, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani, with temperatures ranging from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius (minimum) and 32 to 36 degrees Celsius (maximum), under southwesterly winds of 10 to 20 kilometres per hour.
• In Central Thailand, including Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon, hot daytime conditions are expected with isolated thundershowers and gusty winds, minimum temperatures of 23 to 25 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, under southwesterly winds of 10 to 20 kilometres per hour.
• The Bangkok Metropolitan Area will experience similar hot daytime conditions with isolated thundershowers and gusty winds, minimum temperatures of 25 to 26 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 35 to 36 degrees Celsius.
• In Eastern Thailand, isolated thundershowers with gusty winds are forecast in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat, with minimum temperatures between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures between 32 and 37 degrees Celsius, under southwesterly winds of 10 to 30 kilometres per hour. Wave heights are expected below 01 meter, increasing to above 02 meters in thunderstorm areas.
• In Southern Thailand (East Coast), isolated thundershowers are expected in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat, with minimum temperatures of 22 to 25 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 34 to 36 degrees Celsius, under westerly winds of 15 to 30 kilometres per hour. Wave heights in the Gulf of Thailand are expected around 01 meter, rising above 02 meters in thundershowers.
• In Southern Thailand (West Coast), isolated thundershowers are forecast in Phangnga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun, with minimum temperatures of 24 to 26 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures of 33 to 35 degrees Celsius, under northwesterly winds of 15 to 30 kilometres per hour. Wave heights in the Andaman Sea are expected around 01 meter, increasing above 02 meters in thunderstorm areas.
