The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers or thundershowers across most parts of Sri Lanka after 1300 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October). Rainfall exceeding 75 millimetres is likely in some parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North-Western, and North-Central provinces, and the Galle and Matara districts.
Temporary localised strong winds and lightning may accompany thundershowers. Misty conditions are expected in parts of Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early morning.
