The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has forecast widespread adverse weather conditions across Thailand on Friday (31 October), as an active low-pressure cell over the upper Gulf of Thailand combines with a weak high-pressure system covering upper Thailand.

The confluence of easterly and south-easterly winds is expected to bring more rain and isolated heavy rainfall across the country, particularly in the South, while cool morning conditions persist in the North. The monsoon trough lying across the upper South is strengthening, leading to isolated heavy rain and moderate winds and waves in the Gulf and Andaman Sea. The following are the additional details:

• The Northern Region, including Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit, and Phetchabun, will experience scattered thundershowers with isolated heavy rain and cool morning conditions, particularly in mountainous areas.
• The Northeastern Region, covering Nong Bua Lamphu, Chaiyaphum, Roi Et, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, and Ubon Ratchathani, will have scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain, with cooler temperatures in elevated zones.
• The Central Region, including Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Suphan Buri, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, and Samut Songkhram, will see fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rainfall.
• The Eastern Region, comprising Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, Sa Kaeo, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat, will experience fairly widespread rain and isolated heavy showers, with wave heights around 1 metre, rising above 2 metres in thundershowers.
• The Southern (East Coast), covering Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, and Surat Thani, will face scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rain. Wave heights may reach 1–2 metres, exceeding 2 metres during thundershowers.
• The Southern (West Coast), including Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang, and Satun, will experience fairly widespread thundershowers with isolated heavy rain, with similar marine conditions and waves reaching over 2 metres in thunderstorm zones.
• The Bangkok Metropolitan Region will have fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain, potentially leading to short-term waterlogging during peak rainfall periods.
