As per reports, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast that places across the UAE are expected to be affected starting Friday (10 October) until Tuesday (14 October), by the extension of a surface low-pressure system from the south, coinciding with a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere accompanied by a relatively cold and humid air mass.
• During this period, the country is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, occasionally heavy at intervals, over scattered areas, particularly in the northern and eastern regions, extending to some inland and western areas.
• The affected locations include Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and parts of Abu Dhabi’s western and inland regions such as Al Ain and Al Dhafra. There is also a possibility of small hail in limited areas, especially over the mountainous regions of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
• Temperatures are expected to drop, while winds may shift from southeasterly to northeasterly, later turning northwesterly. Winds may be light to moderate, occasionally active to strong, potentially causing dust storms and reduced visibility in open desert and coastal areas.
• The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman may experience light to moderate waves, becoming rough at times with cloud cover. These unstable weather conditions are expected to persist until Tuesday (14 October).
