As per reports, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued weather warnings for KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and the Eastern Cape on Wednesday (16 April), due to disruptive rainfall and flooding risks.
• A yellow level four warning has been issued for KwaZulu-Natal, predicting disruptive rainfall that may lead to flooding of roads and settlements, with significant traffic disruptions expected.
• The yellow level four warning applies to most of KwaZulu-Natal, except for the northeastern areas.
• The SAWS also issued a yellow level two warning for the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape, where heavy rainfall is expected to flood susceptible areas, roads, and bridges.
• Localized damage to properties and temporary disruptions of municipal services are expected in the affected areas of the Eastern Cape.
• The SAWS forecasts morning fog for parts of Gauteng, with scattered rainfall and thundershowers expected throughout the region.
• Mpumalanga is forecast to experience morning fog, followed by partly cloudy and cool conditions, with scattered rainfall and thunderstorms in the Lowveld and along the escarpment.
• Limpopo is expected to have morning fog, followed by partly cloudy and warm conditions, with scattered rainfall and thunderstorms in the south-west.
• North West Province is forecast to experience morning fog in the west, followed by cool to warm weather, with isolated rainfall and thunderstorms in the east.
• The Free State is forecast to have morning fog in places, and the rest of the day is forecast to be partly cloudy and cool to warm, with scattered rainfall over the eastern regions.
• The Northern Cape is forecast to experience morning fog in the east, with fine and cool conditions in the rest of the region, along with isolated rainfall in the extreme northeast.
• The Western Cape is forecast to have morning fog over the southern parts, followed by partly cloudy and cool conditions, with clear weather in the western parts by evening.
• Residents in the eastern half of the Eastern Cape, particularly along the Wild Coast, will face widespread rainfall, with cloudy and cool weather conditions.
